It may be the last time I post a blog for the ALES-204 class, but never be the last blog about communication, which has became a important topic in my life.

Before I taking this class, communication is a general idea, such as talking to someone else. I never think so much about the skill that I should use to make a perfect communication. For now, I will concentrate on every communication in my daily life. When I talk to my friends, the facial expression I use; When I have a interview, the speed of my speaking I should use; When I write a formal email, the format I should use; When I have a presentation, the way I talk to my audience I should use. I learnt more than those in this class, which makes me more confidence when I have any types of communication.

One more thing is the blog. I started this blog when I was in this class, it is a funny way to review what I learnt in this term. Meanwhile, every time I go to my classmates' blog, they all surprised me so much, they are so talented to design the profile.

C' est La Vie is the title of my blog, this is life here with ALES-204 and with my amazing friends, my cool ta MC, and my nice prof Jessi.

Get to Know Open Access

As a student in ALES-204, the communication class, I got a opportunity to get to know the "Open Access", which is a topic I would not to study about it on purpose.

By research, I got the idea that Open Access promotes to attain free peer-reviewed scientific and scholarly literature on the internet regardless of the copyright and licensing restrictions. Actually, we are using many kinds of open access as a resource almost everyday, especially we need to use Internet to get the information. One of the most popular one should be Wikipedia, Google  and the one for Chinese, Baidu. Those are the common open access that we usually use to get all kinds of information, it is more convenient than reading books or newspaper. 


However, during the research, besides the benefits,  I found there are conflicts. One is because the resource from OP is free, so that many writer and publisher lost profits.  Another one is that the accuracy  of information is important, there should be some institutions to make sure people can get the correct resource. It is interesting for me because I never realize those points before even I use Internet everyday. 


Another interesting thing I found that in China, government have build related program to make peer review the resource and make sure the accuracy. Meanwhile, there are existing some rules about using the OP properly.


Based on those information, I finished my scientific essay for ALES-204. Whatever the mark I got, the more important thing is that I know better about this field, which is much useful for me.

Finally my wikipedia profile about Henan Agricultural University is done. Since I chosen stub from the list, I wanted to find one that I am familiar, and I saw this university from the Education part. I was born in Zhengzhou, this university is just nearby my home, so I know it so much better than others. I could see anything happened that from the window, so, that is the reason why I choose this one.

However, even it is familiar for me, but how to gather the official information is not that easy. I surf the introduction part from the official site, and then combine what I remember about the daily life in campus and the exactly environment there, I write down the campus and culture part. For the last part, I gathered the information from the international program site. What the difficulty for me is how to write all the thing in a correct format. I spent almost an hour to learn how to put a picture on the profile, those stuff would be easy if someone could teach me, but not find whole process by trying each step every time. That is the tough part I spent mt time on it. 

I am so happy that I have my own edited wikipedia profile, especially something from my hometown. I would like to edit more stubs on it to make the information about my hometown more completed.

My Facebook& Blog are always together

On the second ALES lab, my TA told us to use print screen button on the computer to get the picture showed on my screen, it was so amazing, I never use that before. Besides, I started my new Photo Album on Flickr, wowww, I got a new album here to show my life, it is kind of new stage for me~

I got my facebook 5 years ago I think, but besides upload my photos, write status, I did not explore other functions there, however, we learnt that to have a Business page for myself, even it is still empty now, I really sorry about that cuz I even do not have time to manage it yet.

In China, we use the Renren, which is kind of Chinese facebook, I upload my daily life there, so, do not have the habit to write any blog here, so sorry:( about the blog, but this blog is really new for me, not only because the website is new one, but also because this is my only blog that I write in English but not Chinese, new challenge here~ Right?

So, I gonna make it better and better~ go go go!!!
